Matching The Dress to the Evening Bagposted on 11 December 2009 | posted in Handbag and fashion Articles
Christmas is almost upon us, it’s the biggest party season of the year for glamour and glitz. Forget the doom and gloom of winter and give yourself a boost by acquiring a new party, prom dress or ball gown to make you shine throughout the festive season.
The beaded dress - will be really striking and make you stand out in the crowd, matched to an outgoing personality , it will have a stunning effect. Select an evening bag that matches, either plain or beaded, but only one colour picked out from your dress.
Classic prom dress - also known as a ‘Cinderella’ dress because it is a fairy tale creation of a tight sleeveless bodice above a skirt made from many layers of satin and lace to form the puffed out style. What ever colour gown you choose, a silver clutch bag with silver shoes and a ‘statement piece’ silver necklace will complete the look to perfection.
Maxi dress - This style was very popular last year and is back for a second run. If you are tall, go for a dress with lots of volume in the skirt, but short girls should go for sleek more tailored looks. A simple dress can carry off a really glitzy evening bag of similar or complimentary colour.
The asymmetrical dress - is another popular trend this year. A Grecian style dress, long or short with only one sleeve or shoulder and lots of draping. Wear long hair up, teamed with long dangly earrings and no necklace so that you show off the design of the neckline at its best. Choose a plain satin evening bag or simple clutch bag.
Little black dress - The popularity of this dress is that it always looks elegant and will flatter most figures. A simple knee length dress, close fitting, teamed with small pieces of sparkly jewellery and a simple silver or black evening bag will have you ready to turn heads.
Whatever dress you choose for the party season, carefully chosen accessories will make the look complete.
