Wedding Colours for 2014

posted on 31 January 2014 | posted in Handbag and fashion Articles

A new year brings a new selection of colours to go with the traditional white and ivory, which never go out of fashion.

Traditionally the favoured colours for spring weddings are pastels, and for 2014 mint green, baby pink, lavender and pale blue will all be popular. To add a dash of fizz try mixing in a splash of hot pink ot turquoise.

Other colours which would be perfect for a spring wedding include Soft Gold, Buttercream, Coral, Peach, Sage, Seafoam green and Aquamarine.

Green and Yellow are forecast to be popular colours for summer weddings this year, but just look at the colours of nature - from bright summer flowers to the blue of the ocean - and let them inspire you.

Whether you are getting married indoors or outside, try to use colours that will complement your surroundings.

In early autumn the weather is often good, and is an extension of summer, so you might want to include paler shades such as cream and marigold along with rich reds and burgundies.

For weddings in later autumn your choice might include harvest colours such as Wheat, Gold, Pumpkin or Copper, Sage Green, Off-white, Mocha, Marigold, Taupe or Rich Red and Burgundy.

For a winter wedding you can go with the ice and snow theme by using shades of grey and silver, and a range of blue tones, from delicate baby blue to navy. You might want to add a splash of brighter blue perhaps.

Alternatively you could opt for bright, warm colours as a contrast to the greyness outdoors. Perhaps choose the ice queen look for yourself but something a little brighter for your bridesmaids.

Your wedding day is your special day, and when planning it the choice of colour is down to you. Stamp your own personal style on the event and make it even more special.
